Myrophora (2024) was commissioned by Marijim Thoene, who requested a work inspired by Mary Magdalene. The title of the work refers to Mary’s association and naming as the “myrrhbearer”—the woman who anointed Jesus’ feet (Luke 7:36–50) and one of the three women at the empty tomb on Easter morning.

This organ piece reflects abstractly on images of Mary Magdalene from several passages in the Bible, including Mark 14:1–9, Luke 7:44–47, and John 20:1–18.
