Tombeau (2024) was commissioned to mark the publication of the book Slaughter of the Innocents by poet Eugene Platt. (Revival Press, Ireland, 2024). This organ piece was inspired by the book’s title poem, which remembers the victims of the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, on December 14, 2012. The piece was premiered by organist Wayne Helmly at Saint Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina, on December 15, 2024.
