Such a Silence, Such a Singing (Shepherd Cry) (2023) for chorus and organ was written for the 114th Annual Christmas Carol Services of The Memorial Church, Harvard University, December 2023.

That night, I came to glory
in the midst of my tears.

A great silence fell in the dark:
A cry like mine sounded,

Then, cascades of glory: the sky
Burst, ripped open with music,

great rains of singing fell,
the earth leapt to life, praising.
