Eternity in Their Hearts (2002) is dedicated to composer Ruth Watson Henderson. The work was inspired by Ecclesiastes 3:11. A free-flowing melody opens the work, which serves as the principal material. After the initial presentation, lyric development of the material proceeds. A chorale-like treatment builds to a climax. Wisps of the earlier music are then recalled as the work leads to its reposed conclusion.
