New Life (2026), a diptych for piano, was commissioned as a response to two paired poems by Eugene Platt: “New Life” and “New Priorities.” These poems were inspired by the birth of the poet’s daughter Troye, and they appear in the collection Slaughter of the Innocents (Revival Press, Ireland, 2024). The music was premiered by pianist Wayne Helmly at Saint Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina, on June 14, 2026.
